I remember having an economics instructor that would try to convey the weight or the meaning behind large numbers in chocolate bars, O’Henry bars specifically. Back then, the mean market value for two O’Henry bars (if you purchased two at a time) was approximately $1.

For example, take a person that spends $2,136 per year on his cigarette habit. Instead of smoking, he could have purchased a whopping 4,272 chocolate bars! That’s some expensive habit.

Back to our infographic. Instead of chocolate bars consider world population. We know that there are over seven billion people in the world. With that in mind, there are 100 billion connections made on Facebook, that’s more than 14 times the number of people that exist on the planet!

The number of people living in the United States, Canada, Russia, Germany, Japan, France and the United Kingdom combined is less than the 845 million number of monthly active users.

If we look at the 20,340,000,000 web pages in the world, 1 in 5 page views land on Facebook alone.

If you aren’t a fan of Facebook, it’s easy to imagine how you might view Facebook as a form of advanced cancer or a global epidemic.

The way we express ourselves is changing. How many different ways do we have for conveying what we like in life? Well, to answer that question, we reserve 2.7 billion Facebook Likes online per day.

Mark Zuckerberg is 27 years old, and already his personal worth is $24 billion (based on his 28 percent of FB shares).

We are increasingly playing more online games. Ready to zone out and escape reality? You don’t need to leave the comfort of this social network. Zynga is a key player in the online gaming market and accounts for 12 percent of Facebook’s total revenue.

Facebook is here, vocal and very influential, so with all that in mind, how are you planning on taking advantage of this social network to grow your brand?

    Love the infographic, so I pinned it on my Infographic Board, you know where! ( I am not going to mention the “P word” since we are discussing Facebook!) Since so many people are on Facebook, it would be smart to capture them while they are sitting there zoned out on Zynga! That is why I chose to create the FB Like Hop and our WE group, since people are already on FB we may as well take advantage of all of our time on there too! Great post Laura-Lee! Lisa

    We try to keep our facebook fanpage updated, but other than that I still don’t know what to do with facebook…
